"How It all Began"

In 1997 the Grayshock family began the current business with the purchase of a two acre lot with a 20-bay storage facility. A few years later, 2.5 additional acres of property were acquired, which provided frontage to Highway 9 in Inman, SC just before the Lake Bowen Public Landing. The goal was to develop a business which would flourish year-round and compliment the storage facility. During this time, no one in the area offered shrink wrapping of boats as an alternative to inside storage. Shrink wrapping became our first step into the world of boating services and was the basis for the name "GOTCHA COVERED".

For two years we serviced, cleaned, shrink wrapped, stored, and sold used boats. The next step into boating was to become a sales center for Key West boats and Johnson/Evinrude motors. By this time, we knew we wanted to represent top of the line boats, motors, and trailers, which were reasonably priced, and companies who honored their warranties in the spirit in which warranties were intended to work. Integrity and value were, and are, a priority.

As we have grown, Bennington, Mercury, Stingray, Smoker Craft, Yamaha, Mercruiser, Wesco Trailers, and MFI Trailers, have all been selected as companies we are proud to represent as authorized dealers. Stingray has been a multiple winner of the CSI award; Bennington and Evinrude are multiple winners of the JD Powers Award. During this stage of growth, Gotcha Rentals was born and allows groups and individuals to rent a pontoon boat on beautiful Lake Bowen.

The goal of having a year round business has been accomplished with sales, servicing, repowering, boat rescue recovery, winterizing, cleaning, shrink wrapping and on-site storage. Perhaps the most important aspect of our business has been introducing our customers to the joys of boating, teaching them how to enjoy and take care of their investment, and especially being right there with them on the day they take their boat out for the first time. We want to pass along the values of what our family has learned. Boating is an investment in your family and creates wonderful memories that last a lifetime.
